Barcelona started the game at a blistering pace and took the lead just four minutes in through Lamine Yamal. The youngster pounced on an error by Clément Lenglet before calmly finishing past goalkeeper Juan Musso.

The visitors continued to press early on, but Atlético gradually settled into the contest. Antoine Griezmann came close midway through the first half as the hosts began to respond.

Barcelona extended their advantage on the night when Ferran Torres produced a composed finish after working space for himself, bringing the tie level on aggregate.

However, Atlético quickly regained control before the break. Ademola Lookman restored their aggregate lead in the 31st minute, finishing off a low delivery from Marcos Llorente.

In the second half, Atlético adopted a more compact and disciplined approach, frustrating Barcelona’s attacking efforts. The situation worsened for the visitors when Eric García was sent off late on after bringing down Alexander Sørloth.

Barcelona pushed for a late equaliser and nearly found it through Ronald Araújo in stoppage time, but Atlético held firm.

Lookman’s decisive goal ultimately proved the difference, sending Atlético de Madrid into their first Champions League semi-final appearance in eight years.
