Justice for Alex Pressures Police Over ₦50M Compensation Delay

The advocacy group Justice for Alex has renewed its demand that the Nigeria Police Force immediately comply with a court order awarding ₦50 million to the family of late journalist Alex Ogbu.

Ogbu was killed in January 2020 while reporting on a protest in Abuja, an incident that sparked nationwide calls for justice. The group criticized the delay in payment, saying it undermines both accountability and the rule of law.

“Justice delayed is justice denied,” the group stated, urging the police to promptly execute the court judgment and ensure that the rights of victims’ families are respected.
