ADC Confirms New Venue for National Convention

African Democratic Congress
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has secured a new venue for its national convention slated for Tuesday, April 14, in Abuja.
In a statement posted on its official X account, the party announced that the convention will now hold at the Rainbow Event Centre. It noted that the choice of venue offers a central and accessible location for delegates and stakeholders expected from across the country.
According to the ADC, hosting the event in Abuja highlights the national significance of the convention and ensures smooth coordination in a city that is easily reachable for participants nationwide.
The development follows earlier concerns over the lack of a confirmed venue just hours before the event. Kola Ologbondiyan, media aide to former Senate President David Mark, had disclosed that the party was yet to secure a location.
He explained that the ADC had applied to use Eagle Square through the office of the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, but received no response despite acknowledgment of its request. Efforts to use facilities at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, including the Velodrome, also proved unsuccessful.
Reacting to the claims, Wike denied any wrongdoing, describing allegations of politically motivated denial as baseless. He insisted that no formal application had been received and maintained that Eagle Square is open to any group that follows due process and pays the required fees.
With the new venue now confirmed, the ADC is set to go ahead with its convention as scheduled.
