APC NLA Commends Radda’s Sports Development Drive, Applauds Katsina Emir for Heritage Preservation

The National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Murtala Aliyu Kankia, has commended Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, for his commitment to the development and promotion of sports in the state.
Kankia also praised the Emir of Katsina, His Royal Highness Dr. Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, for his efforts to preserve the historical, cultural and traditional heritage of the Katsina Emirate.
The APC National Legal Adviser made the remarks while extending goodwill to players, organisers and other stakeholders participating in the 2026 polo season in Katsina.
He expressed optimism that Governor Radda’s sustained support for sports was contributing to the growth of sporting activities in the state while creating opportunities for young athletes to develop and showcase their talents.
According to Kankia, investment in sports should not be viewed solely from the perspective of competition, noting that the sector also plays an important role in youth development, discipline, unity and constructive engagement.
He further commended the Katsina Emir for preserving the traditions and historical values of the emirate, stressing that safeguarding cultural heritage was a shared responsibility between the present generation and future generations.
Kankia said the combination of sports development and cultural preservation could strengthen the identity of Katsina State while keeping its rich heritage relevant and accessible to younger generations.
He particularly wished participants in the 2026 polo competitions safe and successful matches, urging the players to uphold the values of sportsmanship, fair play and mutual respect throughout the season.
He also expressed confidence that sustained investment in sports, alongside deliberate efforts to preserve historical and cultural values, would continue to enhance Katsina State’s visibility, tourism potential and overall development.
