BREAKING: Tinubu Appoints Fayose REA Chairman, Names 25 Others to Federal Boards

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), in a major shake-up of leadership across 10 federal government agencies and commissions.

The President approved the appointment of 26 persons into various boards and leadership positions, with the announcement made on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Fayose, a former two-term governor of Ekiti State and a prominent political figure, will head the REA board alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta, who were appointed as non-executive directors.

The board will also include the agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and three executive directors previously appointed to oversee key operations of the agency.
In another appointment, President Tinubu named Major General Junaid Bindawa as Chairman of the National Salary and Wages Commission.
The Presidency said the appointments, which take immediate effect, are aimed at strengthening governance, improving institutional effectiveness and ensuring efficient delivery of government programmes.

Fayose’s appointment is expected to attract attention within political circles, especially given his long-standing relationship with key figures in the Tinubu administration, including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
