APC Fixes May 15 Presidential Primary, Sets Form Fee at ₦100m for 2027 Race

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed May 15 and 16, 2026, for its presidential primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections, as the ruling party intensifies preparations for the next electoral cycle.

According to the timetable released by the party on Monday, the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms for presidential aspirants will commence on April 25 and end on May 2, while the deadline for submission of completed forms has been fixed for May 4.

The party pegged the total cost of the presidential forms at ₦100 million, comprising ₦30 million for the expression of interest form and ₦70 million for the nomination form.

For governorship aspirants, the APC fixed the fee at ₦50 million, while aspirants seeking Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly seats will pay varying amounts as stipulated in the party’s schedule.

The timetable further shows that the screening of aspirants will hold from May 6 to May 8, with the results expected to be published on May 11. Appeals arising from the screening exercise are scheduled for May 12 and 13.

Other primary elections have also been slated, with the House of Representatives primary fixed for May 18, the Senate on May 20, State Houses of Assembly on May 21, and the governorship primary on May 23.
