Air Peace apologises as flight disruptions hit operations
Air Peace has apologised to passengers following a series of flight delays and cancellations affecting some of its operations, blaming the disruptions on a mix of bad weather, technical challenges, a bird strike, a false fire alarm and delays in aviation fuel supply.
The airline’s Chief Operating Officer, Oluwatoyin Olajide, in a statement, expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to travellers, noting that the disruptions affected passengers’ plans and schedules.
Air Peace said one of its aircraft was grounded after a false fire alarm, while another was withdrawn from service for several days after a bird strike damaged it. The airline also cited unfavourable weather conditions that led to flight diversions, delays and cancellations.
Other challenges, according to the airline, included technical issues that required mandatory inspections and maintenance, as well as delays in obtaining aviation fuel.
The carrier acknowledged the frustration experienced by passengers, stressing that safety considerations would always take priority over maintaining flight schedules.
“Air Peace will never compromise safety in an attempt to keep to a schedule,” the airline stated, adding that aircraft would only return to service after receiving clearance from technical teams and completing all required safety checks.
The airline assured passengers that it was working to minimise disruptions and improve operational efficiency, while strengthening communication with travellers during unexpected challenges.
Air Peace also apologised to passengers who suffered delays, missed connections or had to rearrange important commitments due to the disruptions.
The airline reaffirmed its commitment to providing safe, reliable and efficient air travel, promising continued efforts to improve service delivery and maintain passengers’ confidence.
