2027: UMANA STORMS BWARI/AMAC REPS RACE, VOWS BIGGER GRASSROOTS IMPACT
“In a major boost to the political contest ahead of the 2027 general elections, Mrs. Christiana Uduak Umana on Tuesday formally joined the race for the Bwari/AMAC Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives after picking up the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms in Abuja, pledging expanded grassroots development, stronger women’s representation, and inclusive growth across the constituency.
Umana, who cited her track record of scholarships, housing support for widows, and solar-powered homes for vulnerable residents, said her ambition is driven by a deep commitment to service and a desire to do more for the people if elected.
“I have been doing a lot for the people of Bwari. I’ve supported education through scholarships, built houses for widows, and provided solar-powered homes. If given the opportunity, I can do even more,” she said.
The aspirant described her entry into the contest as a continuation of her service to the people of Bwari and the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), assuring constituents of responsive and inclusive representation at the National Assembly.
She also made a strong case for greater female participation in politics, saying women must take their rightful place in governance and leadership.
“We need more women on the political platform. That is why I picked the nomination form — to show that women are ready to lead and contribute meaningfully,” she stated.
Umana further praised the ongoing development strides in the Federal Capital Territory, citing improvements in road infrastructure, electricity supply, and public services, while pledging to build on the gains if elected.
“The progress in the FCT is evident — from better road networks to improved electricity and infrastructure. I am committed to supporting and building on these achievements,” she added.
She reaffirmed her commitment to championing inclusive development, sustainable progress, and effective representation for the Bwari/AMAC Federal Constituency.
